Another week of quarantine is here. And what shall we spend our time doing? It’s hard to believe there was once a time that our entertainment could be sourced from places outside of our own homes. Ahh, remember those good old days? They feel so far away… Okay, back to reality. There are still tons of ways to keep ourselves entertained at home. And if you don’t believe us, check out this list!
Here are 8 things to do at home and around Calgary this week.
COOK A PIXAR MEAL
Okay, so you might not have a rat in your chef’s hat telling you exactly what to do. But you can still make delicious recipes! Yup, you’ll find a ton of delicious meal ideas from your favourite Pixar movies right here. Yum, what will you cook first?
HIT THE LINKS
Golf courses all around the city are up and running and although it might be a tad bit hard to snag a tee-time, it’s worth it to get out of the house. Plus, the City of Calgary courses will begin to open up on May 14th.
WATCH A HIGHLY RATED TV SERIES
If it’s possible to be overrated and underrated at the same time, these shows have got that nailed. Every one of them has super great reviews. Yet, somehow, you’ve never heard of them? Well, that’s about to change. Cause you have got to check ’em out. You’ll thank us later.
BUY SOME FRIES
As if we needed an excuse to load up on McDonald’s fries! Well, now we’ve got one. Because McDonald’s Canada has just launched one of the tastiest COVID-19 initiatives to date. When you buy fries this month, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Canada Red Cross Nova Scotia fund. What a delicious way to give back!
TRY A SUPER HARD PUZZLE
We’ve just mentioned fries so we’ve gotta talk about ketchup. And right now, Heinz Ketchup is holding a contest to win one of 57 incredibly difficult puzzles. All the pieces are bright red so it’s super hard to put together. But hey, at least it’ll eat up a chunk of time in quarantine! Check out the deets here.
ENJOY THE OUTDOORS (SAFELY)
Physical distancing should still be a priority, but the weather is getting nicer which makes staying inside that much harder. Go for a run, chill on the patio, or just stroll around town for a walk. We’ve got a beautiful city, after all!
DONATE TO CHARITY
Now is a great time for giving. And if you want the chance to win a celebrity experience when you do, check out the ALL IN Challenge. There are still some pretty incredible prizes up for grabs. And every entry is a donation to incredible non-profits like Feeding America, Meals On Wheels, World Central Kitchen, and No Kid Hungry.
VOLUNTEER FROM HOME
Speaking of giving, why not give back by volunteering? Just cause you can’t leave the house doesn’t mean you can’t lend a hand. These incredible volunteer opportunities can all be done from the comfort of your own home. So let’s get to it, people!
There ya have it! There are plenty of ways to keep yourself entertained at home this week. Stay healthy, friends!
