We’re starting hot here. This Justin Theroux-led masterpiece is typically ranked among the best tv shows of all time. We’re not kidding! We’re not even going to give away the plot so you can enjoy the first episode even more. It’s an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish and has maybe our favourite television score of all time.

Catastrophe
If you’ve spent any time on Twitter, you’ve probably come across a Rob Delaney tweet. His raunchy but relatable comedy style translates perfectly into this heartfelt comedy series about an unplanned pregnancy between two fully-functioning adults. Written by Delaney and co-star Sharon Horgan, this show is funny, sweet, and delightfully dirty.

Six Feet Under
This show was a part of HBO’s rise to dominance of premium TV in the early 2000s. The story of the Fisher Family that runs a Los Angeles funeral home cleaned up at awards, netting 9 Emmys and 3 Golden Globes. Plus, it’s series finale is often considered one of the very best of all time. We all love a happy good ending, right?

Before he became Childish Gambino, Donald Glover wrote for 30 Rock and starred in Community. Then he became Gambino and returned as Donald Glover, showrunner and star of FX’s Atlanta. It’s weird, wild, and something completely unexpected happens nearly every episode.

Halt and Catch Fire
Set in Texas in the 1980s then growing into the internet boom of the 90s, this show spans a pretty interesting timeline of the not-so-distant past. The first season is a little lackluster, but after that, it picks up into an incredibly well put together period drama. Plus, we have a soft spot for shows that depict how we ended up where we are today.
