EDWORTHY PARK

Climb the stairs to – what we can only describe as Teribithia-like wooded areas, and wander the Lawry Gardens. Edworthy is a magical park with an off-leash dog run, greenery, and a relaxing ‘middle-of-nowhere’ vibe. We’d strongly recommend taking a stroll through this one, folks!

READER’S ROCK GARDEN

If you’re looking for something outrightly visual, look no further than Reader’s Rock Garden. This spot is good for everything from a romantic walk, to a photo op. Also, it’s historic, easy to get to and there’s a cafe smack dab in the middle – just in case you work up an appetite after walking the many different pathways.

A walk through Griffth Woods will make you feel like you are hours away in the middle of nowhere. Here, there are a ton of different trails that wind through in around the Elbow River and a ‘forestry’. It’s incredibly peaceful, super quiet and heck, you might even see some animals, so why not give er’ a go?!

FISH CREEK PARK

Running, walking, hiking, and even snowshoeing (during the winter months obviously.) Fish Creek Park really has it all. Not only is this the largest park in Calgary, but it’s also the second-largest urban park in the entire freaking country. No matter how many times you’ve hit this spot, we can almost promise you that by taking the path less travelled you’ll see something you definitely hadn’t before.

BOWMONT PARK

This particular park is honestly full of surprises. Bowmont has fields, flowers, wildlife, and even a waterfall or two, all of which will keep your eyes wandering and occupied. Wander through towering trees and grab some fresh air, with that free, long-way-from-home feeling – all without having to drive very far at all.
