You have to climb through a hidden doorway to get into this new resto

We’d say that 2020 is off to a good start! January has blessed us with everything from coffee shop openings to uniquely seated concept restos, but we had yet to see a speakeasy until now. Enter Ajito!
Pfft, walking through a door? That is so 2019. At Ajito, Calgary’s newest Japanese resto, the magic begins before you’re even seated. Hint: it’s kind of Narnia-esque.
In order to enter this place, customers will actually have to locate the Coca Cola fridge at the back of Sho Sushi and climb through. How mysterious!

Ajito, which loosely translates to “a hidden safe place” in Japanese, will be serving authentic Japanese-style food. We’re talking sushi, authentic rice and noodle bowls, and incredibly inventive cocktails. We cannot wait.
Not that we’ll have to do much waiting! Ajito actually opens today and will remain open Sundays through Thursdays from 5:30 pm until midnight and then Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 to 1 am. Let us know what you think!
