We’re not going to lie to you, we daydream about escaping to the mountains all the time. Until we can afford a vacation home (never), we are always searching for the best deals. So when we learned about the introduction of ‘tiny homes’ at Snow Valley Lodging, we couldn’t help but check it out.

Situated in Fernie itself (as opposed to on the hill), Snow Valley Lodging offers a great location for those who don’t want to spend their entire vacation on the resort. It’s right beside some of the best restaurants in town (Yamagoya and Curry Bowl), so you can rest assured that you’ll be eating well. Also, cabbing home after the bar will be way cheaper.

As for the new ‘tiny homes’, well, they look pretty sweet. They are the first of their kind in Canada, offering all the amenities of a regular home in a much more compact space. For us, they sound like the perfect option for those who don’t want to rough it in a hostel room but also don’t want to spend an exorbitant amount on a more upscale space.

The next time you’re planning a mountain getaway in Fernie, make sure you keep Snow Valley Lodging in the back of your mind.
