Is there anything better than being able to cross an item off of your bucket list? Well, get your pen hand ready, folks. Starting this spring, Westjet is making it that much easier to put an ‘x’ where Rome used to be, with seasonal non-stop flights from Calgary to the eternal city.
Earlier this year the Calgary-based airline launched its Dreamliner program, a Boeing 787 that is capable of taking longer, more comfortable flights. Thus allowing WestJet passengers to fly internationally without having to transfer to several different planes.

The program already includes flights to London, Paris, France, and Dublin. Now, with their route to Italy, the quadfecta of dream European vacation spots will be more accessible to travelers, and more cost-efficient for the airline.

This particular route will offer service between the Calgary International Airport and Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport and will operate three times weekly in peak season. Considering the plane can hold up to 300 passengers at a time, that’s a lot of happy tourists.

WestJet also announced today that they will also be adding over 300 more departures on the Dreamliner to their other destinations! This is an insane 52% increase since the beginning of this year.
Flights from Calgary to the Gatwick airport in London will now travel six-times-weekly beginning on April 4. Also, the YYC to Paris flights will set to depart at least six-times-weekly by June 2nd and Dublin flights will fly three-times-weekly by May 30th.
So pack your bags, practice rolling your R’s and study up on that rich stone architecture! WestJet’s roundtrip flights from Calgary to Rome start at only $609 with the first Departure on May 2nd, 2020.
