Well, jet setters, it’ll be a little while longer until you can take a southern vacation. Canada and the United States have come to an agreement to keep the border closed to all non-essential travel for another month in order to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus.

This means that the border restrictions will stay in place until at least July 21st, despite both countries beginning to relaunch their economies.

Honestly, we’re more than okay with this. In comparison, Canada has faired rather well throughout this pandemic, and we’d like to keep those who are safe, safe. There will be plenty of time to travel when all of this is over, so we’ll be patient.

As of right now, the agreement does not affect the flow of trace and commerce or the placement of foreign workers and health care professionals who live and work on either side of the border. Either country is able to still operate and distribute even with the border closed! Really, that’s all that we need right now.

Because this is the third time border restrictions have been extended there’s really no way of telling when you’ll be able to travel again, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated. For now, though, we’ll just focus on everything we have right here. No, there aren’t any natural-looking palm trees, and no we don’t have an In-n-Out Burger, but we do have the Rockies, Ketchup Chips, and a super warm summer to look forward too, and for that, we can be thankful.
