Time is up! Two years after the Kensington Manor apartments were urgently evacuated, the city has announced that it will finally be demolishing the building.
In November of 2017, all 125 people living in the apartments were rushed out after an evaluation determined its “imminent collapse.”

Originally, the city was to begin deconstruction in December of 2018. However, it was only a few days ago that the neighbourhood received confirmation of their “top-down” project.
Unfortunately, we’ve got bad news for those who were hoping for a Michael Bay-type demo. Once all gas, water and power lines are cut off, the city will tear the building down quietly as possible, one floor at a time. No wrecking ball, no explosion, no big red button, no fun. Sorry, guys.
After the sidewalks close Wednesday, April 15th, Kensington Manor reconstruction will start either April 23rd or April 24th. Best say your goodbyes now, folks it won’t be long!
