The 5 weirdest things happening in Calgary this week

Calgary never ceases to amaze us. This time around we’ve got pit bulls and Pitbull, cymbals, strangers, and arts & crafts with lovable farm animals. Strange, but hey, you’re keeping yourselves busy out there so who are we to judge? Here are 5 of the weirdest things happening in Calgary this week.

Christmas Party for the dogs
Drink with the other dog parents while you pretend that your dog… YOUR DOG… understands the significance of December 25th. Your dog will participate in games and other activities, and even have their picture taken with Santa, while you have a few Christmas cocktails.

Paint with Alpacas
Cozy up with actual alpacas while you paint pottery. Your ticket will include a warm beverage of your choice, all of the supplies, but above all else, cuddles with one of their many giant snaggletooth angels. Sounds like absolute bliss to us.

Where: Color Me Mine, Kensington
Cost: $15
Sitting Silently in a room with strangers
That’s it. That’s the whole event. For 50 minutes twice a month you can actually pay to sit in silence with people you don’t know. Apparently it’s supposed to help you “explore a foundational attitude that supports and maintains mindfulness” and enjoy the human experience. Kay.
When: December 14
Where: 2115 Sirocco Dr SW
Cost $5
Business networking live with Pitbull
MR. WORLDWIIIIDE is in the building… to talk to you about your Linkedin. Network, mingle and learn how “business mogul” Pitbull used technology to shape his success… we just thought it all came down to timeless lyrics like “Big news, Pitbull, Tom Cruise, Mumbai” and “Mr. 305”, but alas we stand corrected. Oh, it’s also only a livestream, so don’t get too excited.
