Just in case you haven’t left the house since Friday, and you don’t have windows or social media, and haven’t spoken to anyone from Calgary…it snowed this weekend. A lot. Like, A LOT, a lot. In fact, Sunday was one of the heaviest September snow days in Calgary history.

Our pals over at Environment Canada said Calgary got an insane 24.6 centimeters on the 29th. That’s nearly 10 inches of powder for anyone trying (failing) to do the conversion mentally.

The last time the city saw a snowfall like that was over 50 years ago. September 19th, 1968 Calgarians saw an insane 32.8 centimeters of snow. Thankfully we didn’t come even close… Unless you want to count the rest of the weekend.

Yeah, we thought it was just going to be another light snow September in Calgary too. But this one was one for the books.

Hopefully, the slush and powder don’t stick around in the city too long. This week we’ll see a high of 12 degrees. We’ll keep our fingers crossed!
