St. Patrick’s Island has a colourful new socially-distanced activity setup

Via PARK

PARK is at it again! These guys are almost constantly making Calgary a more beautiful place to live through their partnerships with local artists and organizations. Hot off of unveiling their 200 foot mural in Deerfoot City, they announced another project, #VibranceYYC. And as expected, it looks pretty incredible.

Ahead of this particular launch, PARK worked with Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, Leetia Lyons, and Michelle Hoogveld. Together they’ve created an interactive installment on St. Patricks Island, in support of public programming and physical distancing guidelines.

Similar to their other murals and art pieces, it’s colourful, funky, and eyecatching.

“Colour Topography was inspired by the topographical landscape of Calgary and the vibrance of East Village. It was important for me to develop the installation to be a cohesive and dynamic artwork while creating a solution to the physical distancing requirements of the space,” said collaborating artist Leetia Lyons.

Honestly, at this point, whatever these guys want to do to our streets or buildings we’re kind of on board with. Through projects like this one, PARK has said that they hope to promote the talents of artistic Calgarians and give people a safe, fun, and bright place to connect outdoors and that’s awesome.

For more information on this installment you can take a look at their website here… once you’re done that, get out there and see it with your very own peepers! Trust us, it’s even better in person.

We can’t wait to see what these folks come up with next. Enjoy it, Calgary!
