Ottawa home contest offers $1.1M house for $25 and a quick letter

Good news everyone! There is a new Ottawa home contest that you can participate in. Boy, it sure is fun to live in the 21st century, where house-flippers can be inspired by one another and take turns giving homes away for more than their market price. If this isn’t what the internet is about, then we don’t want to know what is.

Anyway, a pair of house flippers have created a contest where for $25 and a 97-word letter you can win a home.

The home itself is located in the Guildwood Estates suburb of Ottawa. It’s a standard upscale suburban home, with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms in a fully renovated setting. You know, nice appliances, upgraded floors, rec room downstairs… the works.

In order to avoid being designated as a lottery (and thus being illegal), the homeowners will have judges that will actually read each and every one of the 50000 entries. So, if you’re going to enter the contest, make sure that you write something legible.

We’re excited to see if this contest pans out for all parties. Will contests for homes be the new wave instead of just lowering the price? Maybe.
