“So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye.” It’s finally time for our reliable little two-wheelers to take a long winter’s nap. Both Lime and Bird e-scooters will be removed from the streets of Calgary by Friday.
Since their distribution in July, Calgarians have taken over 750,000 trips and covered nearly 1.4 million kilometers on e-scooters. That’s quite a lot of ridin’, folks.
Not that it was a competition or anything, but with 165,00 unique users, Calgary performed first overall out of the three Canadian cities where Bird scooters were distributed, according to the CEO of the company.

Unfortunately, with the temperature being so unpredictable, those who scoot regularly will have to find another means of transportation until next spring. Maybe e-snowmobiles will be on their way to terrorize the bike lanes? Too early to tell.
Depending on the weather, the city has said that we might be able to expect them back as early as March 16th, 2020, so you’ll all be scooting again in no time, Calgary!
