Farmers’ Almanac says Canada’s winter forecast is a ‘polar coaster’

Uh, what are we doing working here when we could be coming up with weather-based puns for Canada’s winter forecast? Whoever came up with the term ‘polar coaster’ deserves a raise, and we mean that. Anyway, get ready for a terrible winter.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, pretty much all of Canada is in for a worse-than-average ride.

The 203-year-old publication is claiming that the Prairies into the Great Lakes are going to be hit the worst, with Arctic fronts causing temperatures to dip towards -40C. Yikes.

The Maritimes aren’t doing much better, with a wet, white and cold forecast predicted. Also, the term ‘polar coaster’ refers to extreme temperature swings and hard storms throughout the winter. Hoo boy.

Basically, the only area that isn’t going to see anything too crazy is BC, which is supposed to only be chilling with normal precipitation. Of course, with this being a rough estimate, who knows what Old Man Winter might have in store come January.

Fingers crossed that Canada’s winter forecast is worse than it’s actually going to be. However, we have a sneaking suspicion that this is the year where we create a completely new, winter-oriented wardrobe.

We need to call our grandparents and see if they’ve got any wool sweaters kicking around.
