Calgary will be expanding on road closures in response to the nice weather

As it gets warmer, Calgarians will get more restless while in isolation and rightfully so. We had a long freaking winter! Luckily, the city has recognized this early and already has a plan in place to keep people at a safe distance while they inevitably enjoy the weather. The city will expand existing road closures in order to give people more breathing, running and walking room within the next few weeks.

Several lanes downtown, most of which are by the river, were shut down at the beginning of April to avoid crowding on paths and walkways.

These road closures are being done hopes of preventing people from heading out of town to get some fresh air, because, despite discouraging visitors from entering national parks, people are still going to the mountains and surrounding areas.

Be smart, Calgary! This will be over soon enough. If you must go outside to get exercise, consider doing so in your own neighbourhoods. You’ve got this!
