We’re sitting here wondering how we would react if we won Alberta’s largest lottery prize and found ourselves holding a cheque for 65 million dollars. We’d probably scream, and maybe even hyperventilate a little.
But anyway, a 63-year-old Calgarian named Tai Trinh has come forward to claim the total. Trinh had a relatively simple morning ritual- he would stop at the same Shell every day for a quick pick ticket and a cup of joe.

Well, Mr. Trinh, you can probably step up to a $7 specialty coffee every once in a while now. Ha, just joking, everyone has their preferences. In fact, Trinh has stated that he has no immediate plans spending wise.
Just as well. Did you know that even with a modest expectation of a 3% return via dividends on half his winnings, Trinh is still making roughly $975k per year? Let’s hope he’s got a good finance guy.
What would we do if we won Alberta’s largest lottery prize ever? That’s easy, we’re buying a seriously big boat, and the rest can go to charity.
That’s why we don’t buy lottery tickets though, we’re terrible at personal finance.
