Some grocery store line ups have been unbearable since they added the Mario Kart arrows and enforced maximum capacity limits. We understand these are both necessary for the safety of employees and shoppers alike, but we’d be lying if we said we enjoyed the hassle. To the surprise of many at a Calgary Costco over the weekend, a doctor actually stepped in to entertain those waiting their turn, conducting a 20-minute workout class to pass the time.

Complying with the 2-metre separation guidelines, YYC sweetheart, Dr. David Keegan did the impossible. The guy got, what looks to be, at least 100 people to do squats together in a Calgary Costco parking lot, entertaining the bored and warming up the cold.

The group also got into lunges, jumping jacks and freaking push-ups against the barricades. It’s kind of incredible to watch.

We appreciate you, Dr. Keegan. It’s easy to forget that you’re still a human being and not a bunch of cattle in those lineups. Honestly, when was the last time you saw someone smile at a grocery store? It was refreshing to see people have fun in public again!

We just have one question for you. Do you do apartment complex patio calls? Because we could seriously use the motivation!
