So Calgary, this may be a silly question, but we’re gonna ask it anyway. Should Calgarians be able to drink in the city’s parks? We’re pretty sure your answer is a hard yes, but whether you’re on Team Boozy Picnic or not, the city wants to hear your opinion.
Between now and January 31, Calgarians are being asked if alcohol should be permitted in barbecue areas. It would have to be consumed with food (as per AGLC regs), but if enough people are into the idea, we could be cracking brews all summer long. (Just like last summer, except this time it’ll be legal.)

But before you get too crazy with the Twisted Teas, pump the brakes. Officials say that public intoxication and “disturbing the use and enjoyment of another park user” is still prohibited, no matter if drinks become legal… so maybe don’t aggressively dance or perform acro-gymnastics in someone else’s picnic zone. People don’t enjoy it as much as you’d expect.
