An inside look at the biggest pancakes in Calgary (VIDEO)

Via @the_shutterdad / InstagramVia Curiocity Group

Now, we’re usually on team waffle, but the Pfanntastic Pannenkoek Haus (no, that’s not a typo!) in Calgary is pretty unbelievable. This Dutch house of happy serves up the absolute biggest pancakes in all of Calgary and is the only restaurant of its kind in all of Canada.

Dutch pancakes are comparable to western-style crepes, but these bad boys are triple the size and made with fresh ingredients from the Netherlands. Fancy.

In the mood for something sweet? You can cover these pancakes in everything from Nutella and fudge to ice cream, sprinkles, and fruit. Our dentists are going to hate us.

If you’re craving something on the savoury side of things, try the pancakes covered in melted cheese, egg, and mushrooms. They have a menu seven pages long, so when we say they have everything, we actually mean it.

The Pfanntastic Pannenkoek Haus is family-run and family-owned and you feel that when you walk in the door. The decor is humble and super familiar. It kind of reminds us of our grandparent’s house, except it smells of anything but soap.

This is a one-of-a-kind breakfast experience. Whether you’re a pancake person or not, this is definitely a place worth checking out.
