Well hey there, potential home buyers, internet users, and work procrastinators. Welcome back to another Curiocity Calgary Home of the Week! A segment where we often take a look at big fancy homes the majority of us could never afford. Let’s drift off into another daydream, shall we?

HOME OF THE WEEK

Alright, let’s just get this out of the way. Outdoor pools in Calgary are impractical. If you have enough money to buy a place like this, you have enough money to build a few walls around your pool too. We were all thinking it.

This backyard looks super cool and while it would be incredible in the summer, it would also be useless from September until late May. Now that we’ve got the only flaw in this house off our chest we can happily move on. Thank you for your patience.

This six-bedroom, eight-bathroom 6,355 square foot home in the community of Bel-Aire is gorgeous. The chic modern interior, black marble flooring, and artistic detailing are basically immaculate. We’re getting O.C. Cooper family vibes. Its very cold pretentious gallery meets Sunday family dinner – simultaneously offputting and inviting.

Each room seems to have a different theme, and that isn’t due to the furnishings either. The ambiance, the wallpaper, cabinetry, and even the ceilings differ from room to room.

The lobby is dark and dramatic, but the living room is open and bright, with floor to ceiling windows and an original patterned fireplace; This flows cohesively into the dining area, which is decorated with the same textile in the mantle.

The kitchen and attached living area are modern. The lowlights of grey and black in the light fixtures, island and half wall are completely different from what we see in the main family room.

For all of you foodies out there, the kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, obviously, and also has a sliding window that opens up into the pool area, for easier BBQ service. Snazzy.

The upstairs bedrooms all include an ensuite and massive closet, again, each with their own style. The master is darker, simple and clean, while another room is an open concept, white, light and has a blue ceiling for some reason? It works, it’s just odd.

The home also includes a gym, library and media room downstairs and also probably the coolest laundry room we’ve ever seen.

Now we’ve come to the part of the article where we have to wake up from our reality trance. Unfortunately, This beast of a home will cost you a cool $4,750,000, which is a hefty price. But you can’t say we didn’t warn you. Oh well, the daydreaming was fun while it lasted! We’ll see you next week, Calgary!
