In a move that isn’t too surprising, Calgary-based WestJet has announced that all travellers (even on domestic flights) will now have their temperature taken before boarding. The move comes after Air Canada introduced some similar ‘fever tests’ earlier this month.
The announcement was made by WestJet on Thursday and reported by CTV, as an added measure for the safety of its passengers and crew. The temperature screening will occur with a no-contact infrared thermometer to ensure everything goes smoothly.

WestJet had previously tested these infrared thermometers in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary to ensure they could work properly.
No word yet on what will happen if someone does show signs of a fever, but we assume they will be denied access to the flight and recommended to self-isolate.
