Alberta airports to enforce mandatory temperature checks for international travellers

Alright, jet setters. We’ve got news! During a COVID-19 update Wednesday, Premier Jason Kenney announced that anyone travelling internationally through an Alberta airport must now go through a mandatory temperature screening.
Honestly, we’re on board. According to Kenney, these precautions will be effective immediately and apply to anyone passing through either Alberta International Airport (Calgary and Edmonton.) In addition to a temperature screening, passengers will also need to provide a 14-day self-isolation plan.

These isolation plans must include how they will get home from the airport. As well as and how they will proceed with purchasing food and supplies while in lockdown.
“Albertans have made enormous sacrifices, there’s been huge economic pain, some people’s lives have been turned upside down,” Kenney said. “I just don’t want to see those sacrifices wasted or those gains lost by not taking every necessary precaution at the borders for international arrivals.”
Although non-essential travel is not recommended by provincial and federal governments, it’s a relief to see they are enforcing guidelines everywhere they can! Stay safe out there, Alberta!
