While Bird and Lime have both confirmed a return to Calgary this spring, another e-scooter company has announced that it’s joining the party. Roll Scooters, a Toronto-based company, released plans to roll out (hehe) in both Calgary and Edmonton this summer.
Roll Scooters said that it will be launching with at least 500 scooters come the summer. For comparison, Bird had about the same number last year, while Lime brought in a whopping 1,500. Basically, there will be a scooter on every block come August.

That’s all fine and dandy, just so long as people are using them properly. And this isn’t the anxiety in us talking- e-scooters are particularly bad for crashing. That said, we’d be lying if we said we won’t be scooting around weekly as soon as we can.
Also, you should know that City of Calgary recently introduced new e-scooter bylaws. Breaking these comes with a pretty hefty fine, including $75 if another person hops on. Maybe things got too rowdy over Stampede?
