The Calgary Stampede is iconic. Everything from the “C-lazy-S” logo to photos of the midway are recognizable. Over the last two years, the Stampede has given Albertans the opportunity to take take part in creating these images.
The organization holds a huge competition annually, inviting young adults to design the next poster for the major event. The aim is to capture the magic and feel of the 10-day booze-filled, city-wide spectacle.
Given the incredible weight of the event, you can imagine that when 17-year-old Ariel Clipperton won this past year she was probably ecstatic. Not only is this a major achievement, but the Calgarian is also the youngest to have ever won the competition. Dang, that’s some talent.
