6 addictive reality shows you have to watch if you like Too Hot To Handle
Via IMDB / Netflix | Too Hot To Handle

In quarantine, our only solace has been TV. To the surprise of no one, Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle has been a smash. The show of surprise celibacy and personal growth was relatable (considering our current social climate.) Unfortunately, though, all good things must come to an end, and THTH left us with a hankering for more cringy love triangles and spicy one-liners, the brand that can only be given by the gift that is reality dating shows. If you’re like us (shamefully obsessed), here are other reality TV shows like Too Hot To Handle that you have to watch.
LOVE ISLAND UK (NOT US)
Love Island is a commitment, but it might change the way you view reality TV. It’s trashy, witty, charming, and ridiculous. The narration is hilariously on the nose with what we’re all thinking and the casting for each season is 10/10. Basically, the premise of the show sees 11+ ridiculously attractive singles in a house where they have to pair up to survive elimination.
At the end of it all, only 3 couples are left standing, but here’s the catch (and honestly by the end of the show you’re so invested in the cast that you hardly care.) There is only one cash prize and one winner, who can decide whether to split the money with their S.O. or keep it for themselves.
There are a whole 40 something episodes per season, so it’s also basically a perfect quarantine watch. Pro tip: Skip seasons 1 and 2. The third season is where they find their footing and flow.
TEMPTATION ISLAND
This is the last place we expected to see any growth, but what do ya’ know. The process works! Temptation Island brings couples who are kind of on the rocks, drops them separately on an island with other singles, and then has us watch it play out.
They can basically choose to stick or switch, but have to decide what to do based on what they see from short clips throughout the week. Is there SO being faithful, growing, or having a blast? The concept is actually wild, and it’s honestly kind of tough to watch if you’re an empath, but its a quality waste of time and emotional effort.
ARE YOU THE ONE?
Are You The One? has been on MTV for what feels like forever, so there’s plenty of content to keep you occupied while physically distanced. In the show, a group of men and women are secretly paired via algorithm and the producers and have weeks to figure out who they were matched with. If the group can figure it out by the end of the season, they all split a prize of $1 million. If you’re into cringe reality tv, this is the one we’d recommend.

BACHELOR IN PARADISE
This goes without saying, but Bachelor in Paradise is the only reason we watch the snooze fest that is the Bachelor and Bachelorette. It’s fast-paced, dramatic, and painfully over the top, but in the best way possible. If you’ve never seen this show, we’d definitely recommend. The concept is a simple one to follow- hot people + hot destinations + hot dates = hot mess. Like Love Island, in order to stay on the show you have to pair up, except there is no winner, there are only engagements. No pressure.
DATING AROUND
We love/hate this show. The production quality is a step up from most reality TV shows, in fact, we were a bit skeptical of the authenticity of the whole thing because it was so aesthetically pleasing. Kudos to the crew! This Netflix original is a blind dating masterpiece, uncomfortable and brutally honest. If you’ve ever had a bad first date, you’re in for a ride of second-hand embarrassment and traumatic flashbacks with incredible lighting and a killer soundtrack.
LOVE IS BLIND
We feel almost silly for putting Love is Blind on the list, because we can’t imagine anyone escaped the last few months without watching the show or seeing spoiler memes, but just in case… Love is Blind follows select singles who meet and fall in love through a wall. They have weeks to chat but never see each other and then can either propose or walk away without ever knowing who they were speaking to. It’s wild, but apparently it works?
We’ve watched the best of the best, the worst of the best and the best of the worst. Trust us when we say, if you like Too Hot to Handle, you have to watch these other shows. Starting with Love Island. You will not regret your decision, we promise
