Hey pals, are you tired of living the peasant life? Us too, so it’s time we live vicariously through our 4 Albertan Forbes billionaires. They’re living large and maybe if we harass them enough they’ll become our friends… or at the very least, our mentors from afar. Stay tuned to learn who’s who!

Garrett Camp: Worth 4.6B

This born and bred Calgarian co-founded StumbleUpon, a web-discovery platform, while in graduate school at the U of C in 2002! But as if that wasn’t already impressive enough, he also has an unreal flow and co-founded Uber. (If you don’t know what Uber is by now, it’s probably too late for you. Just crawl back under that rock and exist peacefully.) He hasn’t lived in Calgary for a long while but considering he created our favourite transportation service we figured we had to include him.

Norman Murray Edwards: Worth 1.5B

We love our Sask boys, and N. Murray Edwards is a particularly successful one. Originally from Regina, N. Murray is big in the Canadian oil sands world and a co-owner of the Calgary Flames. He’s also launched several major Canadian companies, including Canadian Natural Resources Ltd and Ensign Energy Services Inc. Basically, he’s kind of a big deal… people know him. He’s been living out in London, England for a while now, but we still claim him as one of our own.

Chip Wilson: Worth 3.6B

Okay, okay– so we cheated a little. Huge deep V-neck fan Chip Wilson may not technically be from Alberta, but he did attend U of C, which basically makes him one of us. The ex-Dino founded Lululemon, and we hear he makes delicious Kool Aid. All you gotta do is squeeze into $250 leggings to drink it. We kid, we kid. Kind of.

Daryl Katz: Worth 3.1B

We make a lot of jokes about Deadmonton, but we gotta admit some successful people come out of that place. Example: Daryl Katz. As the founder and chairman of the Katz Group of Companies, he’s a pretty wealthy dude. He also owns the Edmonton Oilers, is leading the development of Rogers Place arena, and is a former lawyer. Excuse us while we bask in our inadequacy.

That about does it for this list Calgary! If you didn’t make it this time, don’t worry– there’s always next year. Or the year after that. You know what, let’s just not put a time limit on it.
