Oh, winter. You’ve stuck around for quite a while now, and as much as we love you, it might be time for a lil space. If you’re looking for a way to fight the snow scaries, this list should help! Stay tuned for 5 activities that will keep the SAD at bay.
Ricardo’s Hideaway

Ricardo’s 4pm-7pm happy hour is our go-to way to leave winter behind from Thursday to Saturday. We’re not sure if it’s the spiced rum in our tiki glass or if it’s just the Caribbean vibes, but either way, we’re down.
Seton YMCA

The new Seton YMCA’s pool area isn’t fully open till mid-March, but once it’s up and running you bet we’ll be spending some quality time there. With Calgary’s first FlowRider surf simulator, hot tubs, a steam room, two waterslides, and a lazy river, why wouldn’t we?!
Devonian Gardens

The Devonian Gardens got reno’d not too long ago, so they’re still looking very fresh. Head over to escape the cold and chill with over 500 trees, 50 varieties of plants, a 900 sq. ft. living wall, fountains, and koi fish (best part)!
The Beach YYC

The outside says “warehouse”, but the inside says “super fun sandbox”. Hit up The Beach YYC south of Inglewood and across from the Crossroads Farmers Market for some distinctly non-wintery volleyball/team building/sandcastle action.
Speeders Calgary

All those years playing Rainbow Road have finally paid off. Though you can’t decimate your opponents with blue shells, you can drift through corners and steal the #1 spot at the last second. If you ain’t first, you’re last.
We hope one of these activities tickles your fancy! Make sure to tag us in all your winter denial snaps.
