Waalflower Kitchen & Cocktails announces they have shut down permanently

Via Curiocity Group

Well, what the hay? It’s another sad day for Calgary’s resto scene, friends. Waalflower Kitchen and Cocktails, a trendy NE bar, has announced that they have had to close permanently after just over a year of operation.

Known for their fresh presentation and edible theatrical antics, Waalflower was quite the hotspot right from the jump. Honestly, because they were such a delight, we thought they’d be around for a long haul which makes this an unexpected and difficult goodbye.

Unfortunately for all of you curious kittens like ourselves out there, they didn’t say why exactly they had to shut it down. The official statement was short and sweet, only thanking the public for their support and assuring gift card holders that they would be accepted at their fellow Vintage Group establishments. That’s all, folks.

So there you have it, Calgary. Yet another 2020 casualty. While we hope it’s only new restaurants and pop-ups from here on in, there’s no way of telling. Consider our fingers and toes crossed!

We’ll miss you Waalflower. It was a hoot while it lasted.
