Happy hour of the week: $5 drinks in an actual haunted house

Happy Tuesday, Calgary! This week, we’re putting the “boo!” in booze. In honour of Halloween, our choice for the Calgary Happy Hour of the Week has a killer happy hour deal AND a spooky backstory. We promise it’ll be worth checking out, their selection is to die for!

HAPPY HOUR OF THE WEEK: THE ROSE AND CROWN PUB

Haunted? Well, would you expect anything less from an old funeral home? The Rose and Crown Pub took over the historical building in 1986 and has actually been named one of the four most haunted locations in Calgary. They’ve obviously redecorated since the 1920’s when it was first built, but a fresh coat of paint wasn’t enough to send the ghosties away.

Now, despite ghostly sightings almost daily, The Rose and Crown Pub operates as any regular bar would! Serving up good eats and cold drinks!

You definitely don’t just go to the Rose and Crown for the history or spooky stuff, you go for the menu! Want a glass of champagne and some lobster? They’ve got it. Care for some wine and gnocchi? They’ve got that too. And, of course, they’ve also got beer and wings for those looking for a quick wind down after work.

If you get there between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm, you’re in for a real trick or treat. Whatever your pairing with dinner, be it an appetizer or dessert, will be just $5. Yeah, That’s it. Their entire drink menu is $5.

No catch, no gimmicks. Just cheap drinks from 3 pm to 7 pm, 365 days a year! If that’s not the happiest of happy hours, we just don’t know what is. The spirits feel kind of like a subtle quirk now, don’t they? Happy hour, happy drinking, happy Halloween, Calgary!
