Calgary’s new breakfast spot is taking PB & J to a whole new level
Gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Hell yeah. Welcome to PB and J YYC, a bran-new breakfast joint. This place is making adults feel like kids, and making kids feel like they’re at a 5-star restaurant.
Now, if you would’ve asked us weeks ago, we’d swear up and down that we made the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the city. You see, it’s all about P to J ratio, and whether or not you eat it peanut butter side down, or jelly side down. It’s a science. An art!
Unfortunately, the hard, crunchy truth is PB and J YYC have changed the game. They’ve thrown the traditional lunchbox sandwich to the wind, then added caramel sauce, fresh strawberries and even Reese’s Pieces.

Their menu includes items like Cherry on Top, a peanut butter sandwich with cherry jam and coconut, and the Canadian, an almond butter sandwich with walnuts and maple syrup.
They also have a self-serve nut butter station, where you can grind your own peanut, almond or cashew butter to take home. Yeah, they aren’t messing around here, folks.
So, while we’re intensely peanut butter and jealous that we didn’t think of this first, we’re glad that PB and J YYC is here and on almost every food courier app. Thank goodness.
