Air Canada hires Canadian celebrity chef to revamp airline menu

What’s the deal with airline food? Jerry Seinfeld’s most poignant question may finally have an answer, thanks to Air Canada and Celebrity Chef Antonio Park.
Air Canada announced the partnership with chef Park that involves Park designing destination-inspired meals that you can only find on Air Canada flights to Asia and South America. Hey, just one more reason to travel! (As if we need it).
Chef Antonio Park is an obvious choice for the role, and his resume speaks for itself. He has been a guest judge on Top Chef Canada as well as a judge on Food Network Canada’s Chopped. Also, he’s been ranked as a top 10 chef in Canada for consecutive years. Impressive.

Finally, his signature restaurant (Park Restaurant in Montreal) has been ranked as one of the best 50 restaurants in the world.

Air Canada has stepped up its in-flight food and drink services in a big way over the past few years. We typically don’t go crazy over airplane food, but this lineup has our mouths watering big time:
– David Hawksworth: Celebrated Canadian chef – creates signature dishes that are exclusively featured on Air Canada flights worldwide in signature class, and the Air Canada signature suite.
– Véronique Rivest: Sommelier – carefully hand picks wines to pair with chef Hawksworth’s menu at 30,000 feet.
– Vikram Vij: Contemporary chef – his inspired Indian dishes are presented in all cabins of service on Air Canada’s Canada-India flights from Toronto and Vancouver.
Obviously, all this food means it’s time for us to book a flight outta here! See you in the air, Calgary!
