The 2021 Calgary Comic Expo has been cancelled

They really tried guys! We’d be lying if we said we weren’t shocked (but hopeful) when organizers of the Calgary Comic Expo announced they would be rescheduling their massive three-day event from April to July. Though we had our fingers crossed, it did feel slightly premature, as the government had not yet said how much longer we’d have to practice social distancing.

This year would have been an event of epic proportions, nostalgia, and excitement. But unfortunately, in order to protect celebrity guests, employees and pop-culture fans, they have decided to cancel 2020’s Calgary Comic Expo.

“When we postponed the April show to July, we believed that would be enough time for things to settle down. We have been in touch with community partners, and despite all of our efforts and collaboration, it has become clear that July is not a viable option,” they said on their website.

Luckily though, the team doesn’t want you to have to wait an entire year to geek out and socialize with fellow fandom members. They said that they’ll be working on an experience that can be attended virtually, and promised updates in the coming weeks.

“Let’s stick together as a community, stay safe, and look after each other so we can celebrate to the fullest next year from April 22-25, 2021,” they added.

Man, we thought this year was going to be crazy, we can’t even imagine how over the top 2021 will be. We’ve got so much to look forward to, folks. Time will fly, don’t you fret.  We’ve got this!
