Cheech & Chong are bringing their hilarious O Cannabis tour to YYC
Heyyyy, man… Inhale, cough-cough-cough. Lovable, often worrisome pair Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong will be hotboxing Calgary with their aptly named O Cannabis tour, now exhale and pass.
Cheech and Chong, Commonly known as the “stoner-comedians,” established themselves as a working comedy duo in the 1970s. So, they’ve had over 40 years to perfect their act. Since the beginning, their standup has been heavily centred around recreational drug use. So you can imagine, at the time, they were dubbed polarizing by the masses.
Before working on solo projects, the two released several kinds of bizarre, but impressive albums… every one of which monopolized on counter-culture. They had also appeared in a ton of films, a few of which have been recognized as among the best stoner flicks of all time. Honestly, is there really any honour more sought after?

The two are just as funny apart as they are together. Edmonton born Tommy Chong regularly appeared That 70’s Show, as Hydes “out-to-lunch” boss. Then, Cheech Marin voiced characters for some of the most iconic movies of all time. You may have heard of the Lion King?
After years of doing their own thing, Cheech and Chong reunited in 2008 for their first comedy tour ending their 25-year “couples” hiatus. And now with the rules loose, and marijuana acceptance at an all-time high (pun intended) The two are back and more experienced than ever.
The tour will light up in Toronto, stop for munchies in Calgary Friday, October 4th and will burn out in Abbotsford for October 10 of this year.
