YYC artists receive 100s of submissions for Quarantine International Film Fest

Calling all Quentin Quarantino’s, Sanitizing Spielbergs and Francis COVID Coppola’s! Two Calgary artists have launched a project challenging social distancers to get behind their cameras and take part in a worldwide isolation project.
Spencer Streichert and Siobhan Cooney only put out the call for their “Quarantine International Film Festival’ about a month ago. Now, weeks later, they have received hundreds of submissions and have posted over 40 features to their YouTube Channel.

These films, as you can imagine, range from bizarre, unsettling and sinister, to enlightening, experimental, and humorous. They’ve received submissions from Argentina, Japan, Portugal, the U.K., and Spain and have seen things created by amateurs, jokers and even industry veterans.
