We really tried to get into reading this year, and we even got a few short stories under our belt! But, we’re thinking that the 25th anniversary of Wordfest is the perfect way to dive into the Canadian literature scene. Here’s why.

This year, Wordfest reached out to a number of past presenters to try and create a ‘Daisy Chain’ of talent. This includes 12 pairs of authors, who will basically just chat about their work and whatever they’re thinking about.

You’re probably saying wait a second, that’s only 24 people. And you’d be right. The 25th person is none other than Thomas King, who became the first person of Indigenous descent to be invited to give a Massey Lecture.

A pass for the 25@25 event costs $99 and includes a variety of goodies. You of course get access to every live event, plus a 25% off discount on books selected by the authors to read this summer. Or, single event tickets will set you back $15 a pop.

Let the fall of reading (our claim) begin!
