Support ALS research with the ‘Seize The Day Challenge’ official kick-off!

Today’s the day, Calgary! Time to make the most of every moment! In partnership with the ALS Society of Alberta, today is the official launch of #seizetheday4ALS! With the ongoing pandemic and social injustices of the world, it’s important we still choose to appreciate and make the most of every day just as so many patients and family members affected by ALS choose to do.
So, while we may not have a cure for COVID-19 and absolutely must prioritize the amazing #blacklivesmatter initiatives happening right now, we believe it’s still important to choose to find the good in the world and consciously make the most of each day.
Starting today, we challenge YOU to spend the next two weeks paying attention to, and sharing, the little everyday things that bring you happiness.

How are you choosing to Seize The Day? Maybe you go for a morning jog, or garden in your yard? Maybe you plan to cook your loved ones a special dinner or enjoy a glass of wine? Maybe you will be seizing the day by participating in our city’s peaceful protests? Whatever it is that is bringing you a sense of purpose today, we want you to take a moment to acknowledge it, share it, and encourage your loved ones to do the same.
Here’s how to participate:
- Post to social media how you are choosing to “Seize The Day” that day using the hashtag #seizetheday4ALS
- Tag 3 of your friends and challenge them to do the same.
- That’s it!
This could be whatever small thing brings you happiness, instills gratitude or a sense of wellbeing, or a specific action you’re taking to make the most of the day!
And if challenging yourself and your loved ones to spread some positivity isn’t enough, we’ve got some great prizes we’re going to be giving away!
You might opt to participate for all 14 days– or maybe just a few– but our hope is that this online initiative will lead to an improvement in Calgarians’ overall physical and mental health. Additionally, we hope this campaign raises more awareness for the ALS Society of Alberta and their annual Betty’s Run happening on Sunday, June 21st.
Can’t wait to spread some love and light with you, Calgary!
