Trudeau commits $100M to help improve food access across Canada

In an announcement made earlier this morning, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a $100M commitment to helping Canadians access food. To accomplish this, they are essentially making a blanket donation to Canada’s major food organizations. Nicely done.
Those include, but are not limited to (ooh legal jargon, nice), ‘Food Banks Canada, Salvation Army, Second Harvest, Community Food Centres Canada, and Breakfast Club of Canada’.

In addition to buying more food (of course), the funds are also intended to help the groups grow their infrastructure over the coming weeks. It might sound weird to hear right now, but food security is one of the biggest problems facing the planet, and has been for some time.
And we love living in a country that takes that seriously, especially during times of hardship. You can read the press release in full right here.
