Home & Away announces its reopening date in new location!
The second time is a charm, right? After a six-month hiatus, Home & Away is back – and hey, you don’t have to love or even like the place to appreciate a good ol’ back-from-the-dead announcement right on Halloween.
In June of this year, the bar closed its doors, seemingly for good. Without confirmation, some speculated that it was to do with the business massacre that was the 17th Avenue construction. Either that or rapidly rising rent in the inner city, which has also claimed plenty of 17th Avenue victims.
Since then, some sports fans have been looking for a place to hang their hats or get in a good game of oversized connect four over some wings.

Home & Away has continued to remain pretty active on social media and even caused a little bit of a stir earlier this month when they tweeted that we were entering “#comebackszn.” After that, it was pretty obvious they were planning a reopening and had even found a new location when signs were put up in a building along 1st Street SW.
Home & Away has been pretty reluctant to release a grand opening date until now, having previously only mentioned that it would be open sometime this fall.
Well, surprise, people! The bar will officially re-open on Thursday, November 21st.
