Whether you’ve been working hard or hardly working (us) this month, it’s time to unwind.

Calgary Stampeders vs. BC Lions

Nothing like enjoying the long weekend with an ice cold brewski, a big old hot dog, and a trip down to McMahon Stadium. This weekend the Stamps face off against the Lions, and our fingers are crossed that it will be a smackdown.

Canada Day Long Weekend Party at CRAFT

Grab your buds and party with CRAFT from June 29th – July 1st (yup, all damn weekend): $9 All-Canadian beer flights, $10 CRAFT poutine, $6 Caesars, DJs Saturday and Sunday night, Beerfest on Sunday, & brunch on Monday.

When: Saturday, June 29 to Monday, July 1
Cost: Free to attend!

Nick Cave at The Glenbow Museum

The newest exhibit to grace The Glenbow Museum, the Nick Cave: Feat. exhibit features the artist’s signature Soundsuits as well as sculpture, video and installation works. Nick Cave, often referred to as a “messenger” is interested in connecting people and ideas. Through Nick Cave’s brilliantly colourfully and politically charged art, he seeks to transform anger and despair into love, action, and possibility.

Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow

What goes with a picnic and sunny afternoon in one of Calgary’s fave places? Shakespeare by the Bow! Soak up the scenery during Theatre Calgary’s annual outdoor production. This year, they’ll be doing a Midsummer Night’s Dream.

An Afternoon with Local Business

Okotoks GMC Stampede Party

Canada Day Patio Party at Deerfoot City

Start your summer off right with Deerfoot City’s Canada Day Patio Party! At this family-friendly event enjoy outdoor games on the lawn, activity stations, a DJ, and complimentary treats and good summer vibes!

Goat Yoga at Granary Road

Maybe the city life stresses you out on long weekends, and want to unwind a little bit instead. No problem, because just outside of Calgary you’ll find absolutely adorable goat yoga. That’s right, you get the meditative benefits of yoga, plus the cuteness of goats. It’s a can’t-lose decision.

Canada Day At The Calgary Zoo

What better way to celebrate Canada’s 152nd bday than with some of Canada’s most impressive animals. Head to their website and snag $5 off tickets all weekend long. Then, you’ll be free to stroll through the forested pathways of the Canadian Wilds. Maybe you’ll even happy cry over some cute ‘lil otters. IDK, up to you. HBD Canada!
