8 things to do at home this weekend in Calgary (April 24-26)

Hello, Calgary! We know that Stampede being cancelled was a huge bummer, but we still are here to give you something to look forward to this weekend. This go around, we’re looking at a couple of major events that happened this week, some fun things going on this weekend, and even a few wildcard picks!
Anyway, here are 8 things to do at home this weekend.
TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR OF NORTH AMERICA’S ONLY CASTLE
Why not feel like royalty while you twiddle your thumbs at home? Yup, right now you can take a free virtual tour of Toronto’s Casa Loma! Explore the grand halls and beautiful architecture, without even leaving your house.
WATCH A CANADIAN FILM
This week we celebrated National Canadian Film Day. And if you didn’t find the time during the week to catch a Canadian flick, now’s your chance! This list of Canadian films will keep you entertained all weekend long!
CHECK IN WITH MOTHER EARTH
We also celebrated Earth Day this week. For that, we put out a guide for all the different ways to celebrate, ranging from helping to save coral reefs by playing a game to watching some YouTube documentaries. Perfect way to spend a couple of hours this week, we think!
HOP ON THE READING RAINBOW
Not actually though. Instead, celebrate World Book Day going down this week with a list of ways to celebrate. We’re talking local book stores doing delivery, starting up a book club online, and a whole bunch of other stuff that is a great alternative to nonstop Netflix.
CATCH ANOTHER QUARANTINE CONCERT
Of course there are more quarantine concerts to enjoy this weekend. With so many artists jumping on the #TogetherAtHome trend, it seems we’ll never run out of at-home shows! Not that we’re complaining. Keep ’em coming please!!
TRY A NEW BOARD GAME
Honestly, we probably could have put out this guide a little sooner, but sometimes that is the way the cookie crumbles. Our favourite choice from the list? A board game that has you try and attract different kinds of birds to your nature reserve. Sounds supremely relaxing.
GET A QUICK WORKOUT IN
We’re the first to admit that our healthy lifestyle has kind of fallen by the wayside recently. So, a list of some great fitness apps to download was just as much for us as it was for you. We don’t care if only our immediate family gets to see, we’re trimming down for summer.
VIRTUALLY TOUR AN EGYPTIAN TOMB
Why not learn a little history at home this weekend? Right now, you can head online and take a virtual tour of a 5000-year-old Egyptian tomb. And the best part? It’s completely free!
So there ya have it! There’s loads to keep you entertained this weekend. What will you do first? We’re going to be bugging our friends to get a book club started. That’s right, we apparently don’t read enough during the week. Maybe we will treat ourselves with a trip to Egypt after.
