Happy Sunday, Calgary! We hope you had a great weekend and are having an even better March, but now we’ve got to get back to work.. and by ‘work’, we mean doing and seeing cool stuff in and around the city. This time around we’ve got events celebrating food, the last of the colder months, and of course International Women’s Day, so let’s jump into it! Here are 10 socially-distant things to do in Calgary this week.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF WITH ATB

A new week is here and that means you’ve got plenty of time to catch up on your #ATBup challenges. In case you haven’t heard, ATB Financial has been releasing a simple daily challenge every weekday from March 1st until March 12th, and they’re donating $1 to the Alberta Mental Health Foundation each time you get involved using the hashtag #ATBup! TREAT YOURSELF AT EL FURNITURE

Are you or someone you know a frontline healthcare worker? This Monday and every Monday for the rest of your lives, COVID’s heroes are encouraged to make their way to El Furniture Warehouse on any given Monday for a free burger! All you have to do is bring a valid work ID, take a seat and enjoy! It’s their treat!

SUPPORT FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS AND ARTISTS 

This year, not only has Southcentre put a spotlight on female-owned businesses, but they’ve also collaborated with several local artists to paint murals throughout the mall and started a movement. show your solitary in celebrating female achievements and challenging inequality by sharing a photo with #ChooseToChallenge on Instagram all month long!

GRAB A BITE AT ONE OF 17TH AVENUE’S NEW SPOTS

After months of uncertainty and closures, the dining scene is finally back, folks! Surprisingly while we were separated, several new places were able to still open their doors for delivery, but now that we’re finally able to enjoy the ambiance. TAKE AN ARCTIC ADVENTURE

This week, Calgarians interested in getting active, supporting local, exploring their city, and breathing in some fresh air are encouraged to check out the first Bridgeland Arctic Adventure! No matter the day check out their ‘adventure circuit’ which includes harder than you think tasks, like group photos in front of hidden city gems, videos proof of you participating in singalongs and fitness challenges, and a ton more.

HIT THE EAST VILLAGE CROSS COUNTRY SKI LOOP

PLAY A ROUND OF GOLF AT HOTEL ARTS

Winter in Alberta is great, but more often than not these days, we catch ourselves longing for the sun and everything we can do under it – like golf! This week, check out Hotel Arts, where you won’t find acres of green, but you will find a high def screen! Here you can play a few rounds of virtual golf poolside, enjoy a drink or two, and even take lessons from a pro. This really is as good as it gets, Calgary! Check it out.
