Here are 10 socially-distant things to do in Calgary this week.
DO SOME GOOD WITH ATB

HANG OUT POOLSIDE AT HOTEL ARTS
Kick it old school with DJ Kav at Calgary’s Hotel Arts. Hang out poolside and dine on a flatbread special courtesy of the Yellow Door Bistro, have a few drinks, and relax at this COVID safe event. Please remember that due to current restrictions, you must only share a table with those who live in the same household and that parties must not exceed 6.

GO SCAVENGER HUNTING IN BRIDGELAND
Until March 31st, Calgarians interested in getting active, supporting local, exploring their city, and breathing in some fresh air are encouraged to check out the first Bridgeland Arctic Adventure! This week, check out their ‘adventure circuit’ which includes harder than you think tasks, like group photos in front of hidden city gems, videos proof of you participating in singalongs and fitness challenges, and a ton more.

ESCAPE FROM AN ALTERNATE DIMENSION

GET A HEAD START ON SPRING CAMPING
To say that we’re ready for camping season would be an understatement and we know that we aren’t alone in feeling this way. Luckily, the wait is almost over! According to the Alberta Parks website, their booking service will finally open on March 4th. Campsites book up quickly, friends, so don’t miss your chance!
SKI THE EAST VILLAGE CROSS COUNTRY LOOP
Take in the last of the snowy season on the Calgary East Village Nordic Loop, a beautifully groomed 1 km cross country track, where you can enjoy a fresh alpine-like experience without filling up your gas tank!

WARM-UP NEXT TO CALGARY’S FREE-TO-USE FIREPITS
In an effort to promote safe socialization, some public parks in Calgary have been fitted with temporary fire pits and, as if that wasn’t cool enough, they’re also offering free wood! This week, call up your social bubble and book a spot to cozy in and catch up!

GO SKATING AT OLYMPIC PLAZA
Alright, friends. This is a must-do! If you weren’t already aware, the Calgary Olympic Plaza skating rink is freaking magical thanks to all the love that the city has put into making it an experience. This week, glide underneath stars and fairy lights surrounded by a “city-alive” downtown atmosphere and really make the most of this year’s chilly season.

WALK WITH THE PENGUINS AT THE CALGARY ZOO
Well, folks, this month will be your last chance to get up close and personal with the Calgary Zoo’s adorable penguins! Until mid-March Calgarians looking for a wholesome winter activity are encouraged to mask up and head the zoo for their annual Penguin Walk! Of course, this event depends on the weather – so before heading out, check their website for updates!
