Happy Valentine’s week, Calgary! We hope you had a wonderful weekend, but now it’s time to get down to business. Some of you may have some elaborate plans, and to you we say congratulations. We definitely don’t, and we know for a fact that we’re not alone. For those of you who need a pointer or two – rest assured, we’ve got your back. Here are 10 socially-distinct things to do this week in Calgary.

HIT YYC’S HOT CHOCOLATE FEST

We hope you’re thirsty because Calgary’s sweetest festival is here! For an entire month every winter, several participating businesses around the city craft their very best version of everyone’s favourite seasonal drink in hopes of winning a coveted title, and 2021 is no different! SUPPORT LOCAL

It’s going to be a big week, Calgary! As of Monday, February 8th, restaurants and gyms will be able to reopen to the public. If you’re comfortable enough, why not mask up and show one of our local spots a little bit of love? For more information on updated guidelines check out the link above.

CHECK OUT THE EAST VILLAGE HYGGE HUT

Located just off RiverWalk Plaza in the East Village, Calgarians looking to wind down after a day of in city cross country skiing are encouraged to check out the Hygge Hut! This Scandinavian-style hut is fitted with a cozy fireplace, a warm atmosphere and is perfect for winding down under a blanket with a cup of Joe or hot cocoa. Oh, and while your there, don’t forget to snap a pic in front of their winter wonderland photo wall! These guys really went all out for us this year.

CHILL WITH THE PENGUINS AT THE ZOO

It’s going to be a cool one, Calgary but we’ve got our fingers crossed. This week, depending on the weather, Calgarians looking for a wholesome winter activity are encouraged to mask up and head to the Calgary Zoo for the annual Penguin Walk! Check the link above for updates!

DO SKATING AT DEERFOOT CITY

Lace-up, Calgary. We’ve only got 3 more weeks to enjoy a one of a kind date at Calgary’s Deerfoot Meadows, where they’ve set up a magical 100-foot synthetic ice skating rink! WANDER INGLEWOOD’S FUTURISTIC ART FESTIVAL

During Inglewood’s six-week Northern Reflections exhibition, Calgary shoppers can visit the areas and stop by the windows of local businesses where teams of artists (painters, musicians, and animators) will have displayed work that can be brought to life using the Augle App.

HIT ONE OF THE MANY CHINOOK BLAST EVENTS

This year, in order to warm the hearts of YYC locals even in the coldest of weather, the City of Calgary will host the first-ever Chinook Blast, a winter celebration of lights, art, and community spirit in collaboration with local businesses. STAYCATION WITH HOTEL ARTS

After months of quarantining together, how could one day make you feel any closer?
