This new Calgary thrift store sells everything for only $1

Coronavirus has been exceptionally hard on some people. Money’s tight, and the future is still pretty uncertain but the Women In Need Society is there to help. The YYC Non-for-profit has recently opened a brand new thrift shop in Calgary called the More Store, which aims to make necessities more accessible by selling every item of clothing at $1 or less.

Now, before we get too excited, let us gently remind you that although this is a fantastic store, plenty of people in need require thrift stores in order to shop for them and their family. We love a deal as much as the next person, but remember that if you do check this spot out to shop only for necessities. After all, the next person coming in may need those items much more than you.

At the new WINS location, all clothing is purchased as is, but the more that you toss into your cart, the more the total price will drop. Yeah, seriously.

Right now, the More Store has men’s and women’s spring and summer items, as well as children’s fashions. Of course, like any thrifting experience, we recommend that you take a few hours to really dig and browse. You might just be surprised by what you find on the bottom of a bin!

Proceeds from the More Store go towards the charity in support of their 5 family resource centres across the city, which helped an estimated 17,953 people last year. Considering 2020 has been … what we can only really describe as a dumpster fire of a year so far, we can only imagine how many will require additional assistance right now.

So go out there and shop till the price drops, Calgary! You’ll be doing some good for yourself, and the community, and is there anything better?
