Nope, you weren’t dreaming- the top weather stories in Canada from 2019 confirm that this has been one of the wackiest years on record. From historic flooding to Halloween being postponed, no region was left untouched by Mother Earth this year.

The list comes from David Philips, who is Environment Canada’s chief meteorologist. Without further ado, here are his top ten weather stories in Canada from 2019.

  1. For the 2nd time in 3 years, the Ottawa River flood broke its own historic record.
  2. The Hurricane Dorian storm caused 80% of Nova Scotia’s homes and businesses to lose power.
  3. Calgary saw a 65-year high watermark for snowfall at the end of September.
  4. Arctic weather led to the coldest February in 70 years for half the country.
