The secret to the Flames first line success revealed

Finally, the secret’s out! Ever since the Tune Squad’s iconic win, we’ve been wondering what was in Michael Jordan’s secret stuff… turns out, it’s just Purple Gatorade. Unreal.

Everyone knows the Flames have been killing it lately, with the first line showing some serious forecheck/backcheck/paycheck action. And naturally, after the lamp gets lit you’ve gotta celebrate with a squirt of purple drink. At least, that’s what’s been working for Johnny, Mony, and Lindy.

But there’s some serious protocol behind the Gatorade move. Johnny’s always running the show, it’s gotta be his bottle, and most importantly, it’s gotta be purple. Hit them with a red Gatorade and you’re seriously missing the mark.

Nobody knows how it started, but as one of the NHL’s top point-producing lines, they do know it works. In Lindholm’s words, the habit seems to be “going pretty good for us lately. Everyone is scoring.” And according to Mony, “we all need a squirt.” We’re not 100% sold on the wording on that, but hey. Hockey’s not about pretty words.

Sometimes Tkachuk even gets in on the action, since cameras have caught Gaudreau offering the American a sip or two. We’d say he deserves it since he’s sitting third in team goal scoring with 24 goals in 51 games.

Bottom line, we’re down with whatever’s in Johnny’s juice. And we’re definitely down for a first line bromance, especially if it guarantees us an unforgettable Red Mile party.
