The Glenbow Museum Is Inviting The Public To Participate In New Collection

Life has been crazy and unpredictable. We’ve all been so hell-bent on just getting through the next few months, that most of have hardly considered that this entire event is actually historic. In order to document life as is, the Glenbow Museum has created Dear Glenbow, which invites the public to reflect on their experience by writing them a letter or a postcard for their permanent collection.

Although it might be pretty cool, 50 years from now to re-read these letters after some ‘time capsule’ unveiling type thing, these letters will actually be used to inspire and spark future projects and initiatives.

“Our goal is always to collect things that will be accessible and meaningful to our community, both now and in the future,” they say on their website.

“Personal testimonies will be a way for us (and future generations) to understand this unique time that we are living through.”

The museum will accept mailed submissions until July 31st, but if digital is more your style, they’re also welcoming emails and social media messages.

If you’d like to participate but just aren’t sure where to start, Glenbow actually has a few writing prompts on their website here!
