The Calgary Fire Department is doing birthday drive-by’s for quarantiners

Honestly, they really should call it ‘physical distancing.’ People may have to keep 6-feet away from each other, but in our opinion, we’re actually closer than we’ve ever been. The sense of community has been insane in the last few weeks, so when the Calgary Fire Department announced that they’d be doing birthday drive-bys for people celebrating in quarantine, we were hardly surprised.
Know someone with a birthday before the end of May? The CFD is accepting requests for B-Day surprises, where they’ll show up to their house with flashing lights and sirens. Cute right?

All they ask is that you give them as much notice as possible and that whoever is celebrating be between the ages of 4 and 12 or over 75. Now, we’re a 20-something with a May birthday, so this is kind of a bummer, but we understand. Ish.
Once it’s scheduled, you can expect them at around 2 pm on the day of, unless there’s an emergency somewhere else, of course. The Calgary Fire Department still has a job to do, guys.
