Merry late Christmas! Happy belated birthday! Calgary Police Service is issuing a backlog of roughly 10,000 photo radar tickets that were never delivered during the Canada Post strikes.

Think you might’ve cruised through an intersection a little fast and seen that dreaded flash, but no dreaded ticket ever popped up in your mailbox? You could still see those fines. Sorry.

Many tickets issued between October 22nd and December 18th never made it to their new homes.

Due to the mail outage, CPS had taken to using a courier to deliver photo radar tickets. However, more than a few tickets were never delivered.

You’re wondering if you could be one of the lucky 10,000, right? Most of the delayed tickets were for those living in apartments or with P.O. boxes where couriers could not deliver.

In an attempt to prevent anyone from getting the same ticket twice (what a nice surprise THAT would be), CPS says they’ve checked their records against payment records before cancelling and reissuing fines. Don’t try to weasel your way out of this one, they know.

We say why not just cancel the 10,000 and save everyone the headache, right? Right?!
