How comfortable are you with the many current guidelines and recommendations made by the government and health officials? Well, according to a new Ipsos poll done on behalf of Global News, a majority of you said that you actually think they should be doing a lot more.
The results revealed that about 84% of Canadians who participated said that they would actually support taking more extreme measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
In addition to things like further enforcing physical distancing and encouraging hygiene, the ‘COVID in Canada’ poll suggested that people would be accepting of harsher measures. This included larger fines issued to anyone caught breaking these orders and invading personal privacy… Until it involved tracking citizens using cell phone data services.

To the surprised of no one, only 65 percent of people said they were alright with being tracked by the government while in isolation. Interesting.
The poll also showed that 90% would support having the military build virus patient-only hospitals. While 87% said they believe that the homeless should be moved into local hotels. Basically, while we’re sticklers for the rules, we remain empathetic, and that’s pretty nice to see.
